Working Together To Revitlize Harrisburg Blvd

On December 7, 2024, the Houston Land Bank, in partnership with Councilmember Joaquin Martinez, Adaapta, Perkins & Will, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hosted the first of three community meetings for the revitalization of the Magnolia Park area and the 7811 Harrisburg site. This meeting served as a platform for engaging residents and community stakeholders, ensuring that their voices remain central to the planning and design of the project.

The meeting successfully brought together over 60 attendees who participated in interactive visioning breakout sessions designed to explore potential options for the site’s development. These sessions covered various topics, including housing, commercial development, community services, and public gathering spaces. Additionally, an anonymous survey was conducted, allowing residents to provide further insights and feedback on their preferences and priorities for the site.

Community engagement, integrity of ethics and transparency, and meaningful partnerships with community stakeholders will be paramount to the success of this project. We have launched this website to communicate project status updates, reports, and other critical information.
